What’s this place all about then?

Well, being sort of organic, it’s changing. The main page will contain all things webloggy, and will not be montized, and subsidiary pages will contain the monetized blogs. See the “Essentials” blogroll for details.
I have two other sites: Successful Sites, which concentrates more on web design and online marketing, rather than pure blogging. I also have Gerald and Annie Dot Com, which is our personal diary and host to various moans, whinges and complaints. Read it at your peril.

For a good few years now, I’ve been writing and contributing to weblogs, detailing all sorts of stuff about me, my life, the people around me, and stuff that I do. I’ve enjoyed it, even though nearly all of the blogs have been started with a burst of enthusiasm, which has then fizzled out, and the blogs remain unwanted, unloved and unmodified for months and in some cases, years. For the first time, I’ve decided to bring all of the non-personal stuff into one place, so that people can access it easily.
There’s The Blogging News, which collates some of the information I glean from other bloggers and news feeds I subscribe to. Most of the posts are little more than a comment and a hyperlink into the original news story. If the links to some old stories don’t work, let me know, and I’ll try to find where they’ve moved to. Either that, or I’ll delete the item.
In Blogging Advice, I try to convey some of my experiences in easy-to-follow guidelines for new bloggers. I’ll try to steer clear of deeply technical issues, but give readers enough information to create and improve their blogs.
In Read All About It - motorhomes, I’ll cover some aspects of our motorhoming hobby. Owning and running a motorhome can be complicated at times, and I have some straightforward advice to newcomers, and I’m hoping to feature news stories as they come out.
Definitely on the ‘fun’ side of blogging comes Nobody Wants to Know What You Had for Dinner. A funny title for a blog, but it came from my bad memory of a book I wanted to buy. It was called Noone Cares What You had for Lunch, which isn’t quite the same as I thought it was. Why should you want to know what we eat? I don’t know, but you can find out here.
Finally (for the moment), there’s Old Man’s Rant. Following on from the success of the TV programs “Grumpy Old Men”, this is my personal whinge space on the internet. Come, see what irks me. See why I don’t like drivers (except me, of course). See what the problems are in the East end of London - at least, the ones that aren’t hitting the headlines, that is.
At the time of writing (March 2007), some of the network are a bit … well, unfulfilled, but they will become more like well-rounded blogs that you hopefully will enjoy reading. I’ll even try to get pictures in too!
